Monsoon is coming…
In rainy season, the fault rate of gadgets like Laptops, smartphones are very high as just like any other electronic equipment.
In order to protect your valuable laptop , tablet or smartphone, you need to take special precautions to avoid any potential problem.
1. Remove power adapter after charging: High voltage due to lightening or other reasons, on electrical line is a major cause for gadget failure.
Most of lightening struck gadgets become not irreparable as the amount of damage because caused are huge.
Remove power adapter from wall outlet whenever there is a possibility lightening especially in night time.
2. Remove network cable and telephone cable: High voltage thru Internet cables or telephone lines are also major cause of equipment failure. This is high in rainy season.
So please take care to remove the cables after use.
And never forget to remove the cables in night time.
3. Keep Smartphone or Tablet in Bag, not in Pockets: During rains please don’t keep the phone or tablet in shirt or pants pockets, instead in your handbag.
Also don’t speak in phone in rains even with an umbrella. Usage headphones will be ideal in this situation.
4. Keep the gadget in dry area : During rainy season keeping the laptop in damp areas of your home or office will cause trouble to the keyboard, logic board and other components.
Moisture is the main culprit of keyboard failures in laptops.
So make sure to keep the laptop and tablet inside the bag if it is not in use.
keeping it in a moisture free environment and checking it periodically will greatly help.
5. Use a polythene cover: Carrying a plastic cover for covering the gadget is a good idea if you are serious about protecting it.
This will rain proof the laptop , tablet or smartphone in the event of rain.
6. Use silica gel packs: When you keep your laptop in a bag during rainy season put 1 or 2 silica gel bags in it.
Silica gel is an excellent moisture absorber and it will help on proving a moisture free environment inside the bag.
7. If wet, take immediate action!: Even with all the care , accidents can happen!
If at all your phone or laptop gets wet, remove battery and dry it immediately using a dryer.
And never try to switch on again and take to the nearest service center at the earliest.
